Our Mission
The Josh Palmer Fund is a 501 (c3) Non-Profit Charity designed to assist local cancer patients and their families with the financial burden of a cancer diagnosis and its treatments. The Fund was founded in 1999 by
the Palmer Family and members of the community. In 26 years, the Fund has evolved in its organizational partnerships and community outreach.
The Purpose
Throughout the year, the JP Fund organizes several signature events that have become staples in the community. Among them is one of the premier high school basketball tournaments on the East Coast. The Fund also hosts its Annual Golf Tournament each fall, the 100 Inning Baseball Game in the spring, the WINK Gala in the fall, and the Pigskin Classic in the fall. In addition to these events, the JP Fund supports education by awarding up to $5,000 per school year in scholarships to graduating high school seniors.
Community Knitted
Our partnerships run deep in the Southern Tier, supporting Guthrie Cancer Center, Care First of the Southern Tier, Bampa's House, and the Falck Cancer Center. In our 26 year history, the Fund has provided nearly $2 million in financial support to the community through these partnerships and direct patient funding. As we move into our next phase of the JP Fund, we are committed to our mission of financial support in our community.
