The annual 100 Inning Game is a signature spring fundraiser for the Josh Palmer Fund. Founded by legendary coach Jeff Limoncelli, a cherished friend of the Palmer family, this special event has grown into one of the Fund’s most meaningful community traditions.
What began as a bold idea, a 100-inning baseball marathon between local high school rivals Horseheads and Elmira, has now entered an exciting new chapter. In 2026, softball joined the tradition, with the Horseheads and Elmira baseball programs playing 50 innings and the Horseheads and Elmira softball programs coming together for 50 innings of their own.
United by a cause greater than any rivalry, these student-athletes, coaches, families, and supporters come together to help ease the financial burdens faced by local cancer patients and their families. Every dollar raised through the event supports people right here in our community, helping with needs such as utility bills, rent, medications, and other expenses that may not be covered by insurance.
The 100 Inning Game represents the very best of the Twin Tiers: competition, compassion, community, and a shared commitment to helping those who need it most.
